 Tattoo Aftercare

A Tattoo is one of the most dynamic symbols  of self expression ever created and it's important to rely on the expert guidance of your artist for proper aftercare of your life-long treasure.

You were tattooed in a modern health registered studio with sterilised  instruments and pigments. After the process, the artist may have dressed the Tattoo. The long life of your tattoo depends upon the care you give it during the first few days and weeks.

Important: If you have any problems or questions please stop in or call immediately as its important to us that your tattoo heals properly.

Daily Care:

  1. Remove Dressing after 2-3 hours.

  2. Gently was 2-3 times a day or as needed with a liquid antibacterial soap. (Dial or Soft soap)

  3. Completely  rinse with luke warm water and gently pat dry.

  4. Apply THIN layer of antiseptic cream. The amount of antiseptic cream used is very important for proper healing. You should apply antiseptic cream like a hand lotion, and use it to keep your tattoo at your skins natural moisture.

  5. Re-apply antiseptic cream as needed throughout each day until the tattoo is healed. This will vary from person to person and from day to day.

  6. Do not use: Vaseline, cream based ointments, with extra additives such as pain relief or aloe. If any irritation from ointments is noticed, such as continued redness or rush immediately discontinue use and consult your artist for alternatives.

Healing Process:

  1. Tattoo will ''Weep'' (secrete plasma) for up to 48 hrs. This may require extra washing, depending on the individual, during this time.

  2. With proper care of the tattoo, it will form a thin scab over the tattoo that will begin to flake of in 5 to 7 days. It is very important that when the flaking starts do not rub, pick or scratch the tattoo. This will damage the tattoo.

  3. Once the tattoo is finished flaking , the critical part of healing process is over. The tattoo may appear shiny or cloudy at first due to the freshly healed skin. Its is still important not to hit or damage your tattoo during this time. You should apply lotion daily until the skin is completely healed.

Tattoo Damaging Elements:

  1. Excessive friction from clothing or other factors will irritate and damage the tattoo during the healing process.

  2. Heat, steam and water can prolong the healing process and damage the tattoo.

  3. Do not expose the tattoo to direct sunlight, UV tanning lights, swim or soak in sauna, steam bath or bathtub for two weeks.

It is most unusual for a tattoo not to heal quickly as hygiene methods follow recommended procedures. Should yours not be healing to your entire satisfaction consult your doctor immediately.
